FEATURES: Panoramic views, unusual rock formations and a sink hole which is home to a rather large family of bats. LEVEL: Moderate.
HIKING TIME: Approximately 2 hours roundtrip.
DRIVING TIME FROM THE INTERSECTION OF 89A AND SR 179: About five minutes.
DESCRIPTION: This hike follows a well maintained trail that is shared by bikes, horses and hikers, however it is one of the most beautiful in the Sedona area. It is suggested that this hike be taken on days other than weekends since there are jeep tours that utilize a road that parallels this trail. But if you can ignore the reminders of civilization this hike is the richest of eye candy. The reward at the end of the trail is the overlook shown in the photo below.
